Meeting Room Reservations
The library has one meeting room available to reserve. The meeting room can accommodate up to 30 adults. The meeting room may only be reserved for non-commercial purposes. Please see the meeting room policy on our policies page for complete information.

Please fill out this form to make a reservation.

Your Online Library Account
Click here to access your online library account. On the main page of the catalog there will be a login box in the upper right corner of the screen, enter your library card number and your PIN to access your account. If you don't already have a PIN, please contact the library to set one up.

In your account, you'll be able to see the items you have on reserve, items checked out, fines, interests, and your borrowing history. You may also reserve and renew materials online in your account as well.

Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
If the library doesn't have a material that you are looking for, we are able to check with other libraries through a process called "Inter-Library Loan" to see if it is available through another library. If we are able to find it, and that library is in our network, we can request to have the item sent to our library for you to borrow. Please see our policies page for more information about Inter-Library Loans. All Inter-Library loans are free to our patrons.

Materials Requests
If there is a certain material you are looking for that the library doesn't currently own, you may submit a materials request. Visit any of the circulation desks at any of our library branches, and a librarian will be happy to help you with your request.

Once your request is received, the purchasing librarian will review your request, and decide to either purchase the item for the library collection, or look for the item through our Inter-Library Loan network (if you have selected that as an option on your request card). Not all materials requests are able to be fulfilled.

Library of Things
The Library of Things is a collection of useful items, such as household appliances, sewing machines, muffin tins, games, craft equipment, tools, and so much more! To borrow items from the Library of Things all you need is a library card and then you may check-out the items just like you would a book! The Library of Things is located at the Stutsman County branch in Jamestown. Click here to access a menu of the items available in the Library of Things.

Seed Library
The Jamestown Seed Library seeks to benefit the community by providing free seeds to the public.  Our goal is to get more people excited about their own food! The seeds are housed in the old card catalog located at the Stutsman County branch of the James River Valley Library. Seeds are available whenever the library is open and as long as our stock lasts.

Each packet contains enough seeds to plant about a 12’ row. There is a FIVE PACKET LIMIT PER VISIT.

You will be asked to fill out a short form listing the seeds you have selected and contact information. Give this form to the librarian at the front desk. This will allow for replenishment of the seeds and letting you know about any related events.

You don’t even have to have a library card to “check out” seeds, so stop by and pick some up today! Click here to browse the seeds available.

Printing & Photocopying
The library has printers, photocopiers, and scan to email options available. The cost to print or photocopy is 20-cents per side. The photocopy machine and the computer printer are there for the patron’s use. It is the patron’s responsibility to adhere to copyright laws. The library has the right to prohibit anyone from using the copy machine or any other equipment if an employee becomes aware that such person is infringing on a copyright.
